September 17, 2018: Status Update
On Thursday, September 13, Maxine called to tell me that the rail trip has finally been approved to go forward. Maxine will go ahead and make the final payment to MIR and book the airline flights to/from Budapest.

Plans
My grandson, Gavin, and I plan to take a 9-day train journey beginning and ending in Budapest. It departs on December 28, 2018 and ends on January 5, 2019.
We will be traveling on the Golden Eagle Danube Express in their Superior Deluxe Class cabin. This is their premium cabin and has 93 sq ft in size. It has its own in-cabin toilet and shower.
We will attend the New Year’s Eve performance of the Viennese Opera, perhaps.
